Available in five trim levels, there's a Jeep Cherokee for every style and budget. From the base level Latitude to the swankier Overland and the sporty Trailhawk, the Cherokee offers a variety of standard and available features to customize your ride. And thanks to a facelift, the 2019 Cherokee is definitely a ride to be noticed. It sports an all-new front end with undeniably good looks. The premium LED headlamps and fog lamps feature a more conventional design than the 2018 model. Meanwhile, the integrated daytime running lamps sweep back like a falcon's wing to give the Cherokee a fresh look. An angled seven-slot grille, enlarged windows, distinct upright hood, unique trapezoidal wheel arches, and revised fascia add to the Cherokee's bold aesthetic. Jeep also made a few improvements to the Cherokee's rear end. Revised taillights and exhaust tips have an eye-catching new look. In addition, Jeep moved the license plate to the new foot-activated power liftgate for a more streamlined feel.
Engine (Power)
Under the hood, Jeep added a powerful 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine to its lineup. At 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, it packs more punch than Cherokee's previous 271-horsepower, 3.2-liter, 6-cylinder engine. Base models come standard with a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine that kicks out a respectable 180 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. Any of the three engines are mated to an enhanced nine-speed automatic transmission that features smoother, smarter shifting.
Performance
In an effort to improve fuel economy, Jeep added more lightweight components to the 2019 Cherokee, including a composite liftgate and aluminum hood to the 2019 Cherokee. Other features, such as start-stop technology and direct injection, further improve fuel efficiency. As a result, expect to get between 21 and 26 miles per gallon combined city/highway fuel economy depending on which of the 10 variations of the engine, transmission, and drive system you select.
Interior
If it's comfort and style you're after, you'll find it inside the 2019 Jeep Cherokee. State-of-the-art technology like a 7-inch Uconnect touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, two USB ports, additional auxiliary ports, and 12-volt charging capability all come standard. Other available features include a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, an 8.4-inch screen with navigation, the Driver Information Digital Cluster Display, the CommandView Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof, and an Alpine Premium Sound System.
