Although the 2022 Dodge Challenger and 2022 Ford Mustang fit into the same segment, their cabins differ drastically. The Challenger is a longer and heavier model with a spacious cabin that fits three people comfortably in the back seat. The Mustang doesn't have nearly as much room in the back, so it doesn't work well for those who want to transport passengers.
Power Beneath the Hood
The 2022 Challenger is available in multiple trim levels and with multiple engine options. The base engine is a capable 3.6-liter V-6, while the mid-level R/T trim adds a 5.7-liter V-8 unit. You can get even more power with the 6.4-liter V-8 offered in the R/T Scat Pack or the 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine in the SRT Hellcat. The most powerful of the pack is the SRT Super Stock, which has an upgraded version of the 6.2-liter engine.
The Mustang's engine options can't compare with the output of those offered on the Challenger. The base engine is a 2.3-liter four-cylinder, while the top engine is a 5.0-liter V-8. Ford does offer a Shelby GT500 version of the Mustang, but it's considered a separate model and is more expensive.
