The 2022 Jeep Wrangler is available as a two- or four-door model, the latter of which is called the Unlimited. It's available in 11 trims: Sport, Willys Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sport Altitude, Sport RHD, Sahara, Rubicon, Sahara Altitude, High Altitude, and Rubicon 392. One of the key additions for the 2022 year is the Xtreme Recon package, which competes with the Ford Bronco's Sasquatch package. Jeep's package gives you 35-inch all-terrain tires on 17-inch wheels, a 1.5-inch suspension lift, and upgraded brakes.
Engine (Power)
You'll find several engine options under the hood of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The standard 3.6-liter V-6 engine makes 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Consider the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four for additional power that cranks out 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. You can also opt for a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 that produces 260 horsepower and 422 pound-feet of torque. The SUV does have a 2.0-liter turbo-four plug-in hybrid option, which gets 375 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Its most powerful option is a 6.4-liter V-8 engine that amasses 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
Its body-on-frame construction allows the 2022 Wrangler to give you a smooth ride no matter where you're driving. All models come standard with four-wheel drive. Most engines have manual transmission available, but most are exclusively mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Wrangler achieves decent numbers compared to other vehicles in its class when it comes to fuel economy. The turbodiesel engine achieves the best numbers at 26 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. The plug-in hybrid option reaches 49 mpg-e and 20 mpg when it operates with gas only.
Interior
You'll enjoy ample headroom and legroom no matter where you sit inside the 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The driver also has an excellent view of the roadway. Cargo space is also spacious, with 31.7 cubic feet behind the rear bench seats and 72.4 cubic feet of space with that bench folded.
