Its 3.0-liter turbodiesel gets 260 horsepower, while the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 found standard on the TRX trim cranks out an astounding 702 horsepower. No matter what engine you choose, they all are paired with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
The most fuel-efficient engine for the 2022 RAM 1500 is the turbodiesel paired with rear-wheel drive, which gets 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. Four-wheel-drive models see their numbers dip slightly. Also, when properly equipped, the vehicle has a maximum towing capacity of 12,750 pounds and a hauling capacity of 2,300 pounds.
