The 2022 RAM 3500 is a heavy-duty pickup truck with five trim levels—tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited. Every RAM 3500 comes with a 6.4-liter V-8 gas-powered engine rated at 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. It pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. If you prefer diesel power, consider upgrading the truck to include the optional 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel V-6 engine. It's rated at 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque and pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission. RAM offers a high-output version of that engine rated at 420 horsepower and 1,075 pound-feet of torque.

The RAM 3500 handles well despite its large size and delivers impressive driving performance. It also beats out many of its competitors regarding towing and hauling capabilities. When properly equipped, the towing capacity maxes out at 14,970 pounds. With a gooseneck or fifth-wheel trailer, the towing capacity increases to 37,090 pounds. Choose the Limited Longhorn trim to get upscale features like an upgraded wood and leather-wrapped steering wheel, premium leather upholstery, and heated rear seats. This trim also boasts navigation and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot. With the top Limited trim, upgrades include wireless device charging and a 12-inch touch screen.

All RAM 3500 trim levels come with airbags throughout both rows of seating, a rearview camera, traction and stability control, and anti-lock brakes.
