Available in four trims (Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk), there's bound to be an option for your needs. Strong Off-Road Capability Jeep vehicles are known for their superb off-roading abilities, and the Renegade is no different even though it's the smallest SUV made by Jeep. The vehicle easily tackles difficult terrain, thanks to its advanced traction control system as it fights to maintain a grip on the roadway. No matter where you sit, it's easy for you to see out the large side and rear windows, and you can enter and exit the vehicle easily due to the square-shaped doors that open wide. The Renegade also includes a decent amount of cargo space. Behind the rear seats, you get 18.5 cubic feet of space, while folding them down increases that number to 50.8 cubic feet of space. These numbers are better than average when compared to other vehicles in its class. Impressive Standard Safety Features To keep you and your passengers safe, the 2021 Renegade comes standard with an abundance of safety features. All trims include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, and trailer sway damping. Lane departure warning and lane-keep assist come standard on all trims except for the Trailhawk. There are several available safety upgrades, including automatic high beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, and hands-free parallel park assist. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded the Renegade with four out of five stars for its overall safety rating. Lee-Fendall House In 1784, Philip R. Fendall bought a plot of land from his relative, Henry "Light-Horse Harry" Lee, a leader in the Revolutionary War, ninth governor of Virginia, and father of Robert E. Lee. Fendall oversaw the construction of a mansion that would be home to members of the Lee family until 1903. more That year, the house was purchased by Robert Downham, a prominent saloon owner. The Downham family lived in the mansion until Prohibition shut down their business interests. The mansion's final resident was John L. Lewis, president of the United Mine Workers of America. When Lewis passed away in 1969, the Virginia Trust for Historic Preservation purchased the house and surrounding gardens and turned it into a museum. Today visitors can tour the Lee-Fendall House and experience what life was like in Northern Virginia from 1784 to 1969. Fortunately, Dodge has two quality midsize SUV options available with the 2020 Durango and Journey. With seating for up to seven people, both SUVs offer comfortable seating, even during long drives. Use this guide to learn what differentiates these Dodge vehicles from each other so you can make an educated decision when choosing your next vehicle. Power When it comes to power, the 2020 Durango doesn't disappoint. The base model comes with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, but two Hemi engines are available. The 5.7-liter or 6.4-liter V-8 Hemi engines can easily tow heavy trailers and large campers. The Durango has one of the highest towing capacities in its class, as it can tow up to 6,200 pounds with the V-6, 7,400 pounds with the smaller V-8, and 8,700 pounds with the larger V-8. All engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, but you can opt for all-wheel drive on most trims. Dodge removed the V-6 option for the Journey in the 2020 model year, so this SUV has only one engine option remaining. Now you have only a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. It also comes only with front-wheel drive. The Journey has a maximum towing capacity of 1,000 pounds, which works if you're towing bikes or a couple of kayaks. more Cargo Space Although both the Durango and Journey are midsize SUVs, they offer different amounts of cargo space. Behind the third row, the Durango has 17.2 cubic feet of space. Folding down that row gives you 43.3 cubic feet, and folding down the second and third rows gives you an impressive 85.1 cubic feet. The Journey doesn't have as much space, with 10.7 cubic feet behind the last row and 37.0 cubic feet behind the second row. Folding down these seats gives you 67.6 cubic feet of space. Infotainment No matter whether you're driving to the other side of town, across the country, or somewhere in between, you want to keep everyone entertained. All Durango trims come with the Uconnect infotainment system, paired with either a 7- or 8.4-inch display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as two USB ports, are standard, but you can opt for a rear-seat entertainment system and satellite radio. The Journey also comes with the Uconnect infotainment system, but it's connected to a 4.3-inch touch-screen display. However, you can upgrade to receive the 8.4-inch display. It comes standard with one USB port, and upgrades include navigation, Bluetooth, and satellite radio. It does not offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto connectivity. Sometimes the best way to determine if a vehicle suits your needs is to get behind the wheel and test it out for yourself. If you're interested in seeing which Dodge SUV is better for your family, reach out to the experts at Ourisman DCJR. 2021 Jeep Wrangler

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler is the King of Off-Road Travel

Just hearing the phrase off-road vehicle probably conjures up images of a Jeep vehicle, traveling over rock-laden roads, around downed trees, and through otherwise unmanageable terrain. The 2021 Jeep Wrangler is a compact SUV that's an impressive off-road vehicle. It's practically king of the niche, as it can tackle almost any type of obstacle in its way. Keep reading to learn what features the Wrangler has that puts it above all other off-road vehicles. Capable Powertrains When it comes to encountering terrain once the pavement ends, the Wrangler is an absolute beast. All Wranglers come standard with four-wheel drive and a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that produces 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. It also comes with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. However, you can upgrade to receive two other engines. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine produces 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque and is available with either the two- or four-door Wrangler. The four-door Wrangler also offers a 3.0-liter V-6 diesel that produces 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. These two engines only come with an eight-speed automatic transmission. more Specialized Off-Road Trim Although the 2021 Jeep Wrangler comes in 12 trims, one trim stands above the rest when it comes to off-roading. The Rubicon, which is named after the 22-mile off-road Rubicon Trail in Northern California, comes in two- and four-door models and is meant for difficult terrain. It comes standard with a variety of features, including rock rails to protect the vehicle's underbody when off-roading, a sway bar, a front stabilizer bar, and a four-wheel-drive system. To give you extra traction on difficult terrain, you get low-range gearing and locking rear and front differentials. It's also equipped with 17-inch wheels with 33-inch off-road tires, as well as an Off-Road Plus mode, which enables you to drive at higher speeds while keeping the locking rear differential engaged. With the push of a button, you can adjust the throttle, traction control, and transmission shifts. When you drive off the beaten path, it's important to remain just as safe as you would if you were traveling on a paved roadway. For the 2021 model year, Jeep added a TrailCam for the Sahara, Rubicon, and Gladiator models. This camera system gives you a forward-facing view when you're off-roading so you can avoid obstructions on the trail more clearly. You can view the images on the 8.4-inch touch-screen display, which is accessible through the Off-Road Pages. If your Wrangler trim has the 7-inch touch-screen display, you have access to a special tire-fill alert system. It honks the horn once if your optimal tire pressure is reached when you top off your tires, and it honks three times if the pressure is too high or low. This system comes in handy if you're someone who partially deflates the vehicle's tires when driving on sand or over rocks and then visits the service station to refill the tires before you hit the road. To experience for yourself what the 2021 Jeep Wrangler has to offer, reach out to the professionals here at Ourisman CDJR. We can schedule a test drive so you can get behind the wheel and check out the Wrangler's top off-road features. Image via Jeep.com
